Metro connectivity is an important part of Mandola Vihar’s future development. At present, two separate developments are drawing attention: the proposed extension of the Delhi Metro Pink Line from Shiv Vihar towards Mandola Vihar, and a separate proposal for metro connectivity towards Khekra in Baghpat.
Both remain at the proposal, study or demand stage. They should not be treated as approved or operational metro projects.
Proposed Shiv Vihar to Mandola Vihar Metro Extension
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) formed a joint committee in January 2026 to study the possibility of extending the existing Pink Line from Shiv Vihar to Mandola Vihar.
According to reports, the proposed route could cover around 10–12 km. The committee includes officials from GDA, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, Loni Nagar Palika, UP Awas Vikas Parishad and UPSIDA. It is studying the possible route, land availability and other technical factors.
In February 2026, reports also indicated that the committee had started a physical survey of the proposed route.
What Could It Mean for Mandola Vihar?
If the extension moves ahead, Mandola Vihar could gain a direct metro connection with the existing Delhi Metro network through Shiv Vihar.
Moreover, better public transport could improve daily connectivity for residents of Mandola Vihar, Loni and nearby areas. It could also provide an additional transport option for people travelling towards Delhi.
However, the exact route, stations, project cost and construction timeline will depend on further studies and approvals.
Separate Metro Proposal Towards Khekra
There is also a wider connectivity proposal involving Shahdara, Loni, Loni Border and Khekra.
In Parliament, Baghpat MP Dr. Rajkumar Sangwan raised the need for extending Delhi Metro services along this corridor up to Khekra in Baghpat.
This is a separate proposal from the GDA study for the Shiv Vihar–Mandola Vihar extension. Therefore, both developments should be viewed independently at this stage.

Metro Is Part of a Larger Connectivity Picture
Metro is only one part of the region’s planned connectivity. Mandola Vihar also sits close to major road corridors, including the Delhi–Saharanpur Highway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
In addition, the proposed UER-2 extension towards Tronica City and NH-709B could provide another important road connection for the surrounding area.
The next important developments will include the outcome of the GDA study, the proposed route, land availability, preparation of a DPR and government approvals.
For now, the Shiv Vihar–Mandola Vihar metro extension remains a proposed project, while the Khekra connection remains a separate connectivity demand. As official decisions emerge, MandolaVihar.com will continue to track the updates.
Important: Metro proposals, routes, stations and timelines can change. Readers should check official government and authority announcements before making any property or financial decision.
